I’m going to take a minute and show off my kiddos here. I normally don’t post personal photos, but this year I did a session with my kids for their birthdays. Both of my kids have a birthday within 2 days of each other. I usually pay another photographer to take pictures of my kids because #photographerschild. Basically, taking pictures of your own kids is a PAIN. They are automatically on their worst behavior, they lose all expression, and either run around crazy or give you blank stares. Its not enjoyable for anyone. This year, I had a session booked but it had to be cancelled at the last minute. I didn’t have time to book anything with another photographer, so I sucked it up and did the session myself. I am happy to report that it wasn’t entirely terrible. Ice cream is a good bribe, I will say that. Having Daddy around to help is a good tactic as well. 🙂 But I am really happy with how the photos came out, so in the end the stressful afternoon was worth it. I decided to treat this as any other session, just to ensure I actually edited the photos in a reasonable amount of time (I am usually SO BAD at editing personal photos. I have like 2 years worth of photos waiting to be edited currently…) – so, in keeping with my goal for this year, I’m blogging every session!
So, with that, enjoy a little glimpse into my life. These two kids are two of my favorite people in the whole world. I am still baffled daily that I actually created these little people, but I’m so thankful for them. At four, Lilly is a sweet, sassy, but oh so funny little girl. She has SO MUCH personality, that drives me crazy at times, but makes me smile every single day. She’s the one who made me a mama, and these photos really capture her silly, sweet little self. At one, Dylan is just the happiest little guy you’ve ever met. He’s 100% a mama’s boy, which is simultaneously wonderful and exhausting. He’s learning new things every day, and always has a smile on his face. His smile lights up the room! You can almost hear his laugh in these photos, which just makes my heart happy. I want to always remember the happy, silly, sweet baby he is. I can’t wait to watch these two grow up together, and hopefully someday become best friends. 🙂
